Default Changing Oil and its effects on driving

Hi all, I know the dreaded oil threads get boring with everyone having a different opinion and getting heated with messages with their views.

I had my third oil change today at the dealer and made the following observations. Do any of you notice any changes with new oil and filter ? Or is the Placebo effect in the mind?
Some facts about the comments:

1) I got a synthetic oil change with a heavy discounted price with Corona so I believe they use Mobil 1 made for Toyota ow-20. I last got Penzoil Platinum change and think its best in class
2) the mileage I decided to do the change was 6600 miles since last change and around 6 months.
3) they did top off fluids with oil change
4) I did not replace air filters they were done 11,000 miles ago.

I noticed today
Car feels smoother
I sometimes switch in a lot of city driving to eco mode to temper down the tranny with the off the line first to second shifts
Today I drove 100 miles after the change and felt the off the line was a drop smoother with city driving.
I did a couple of pulls on the highway felt great don't notice a change

I started the thread to get other opinions about their experiences before and after changes.
Besides the mechanic doing a throttle body clean during my change which I didn't ask for and don't know if it was done

Look forward to hearing other thoughts

It always feels a little smoother with new oil. Is it a placebo effect? Probably lol

I have never understood in blind test control how anyone could tell by driving a car if the same weight oii but
a different name on the bottle could honestly tell a difference

I do know that when I wash my motorcycle I psycho like to believe somehow it feels better

I have an 07 with 125,000 miles and change about every 8000 miles and oil still comes out looking pretty gold 0-20 syn

8000 sounds about right. 3500 to 5000 seems like a waste of good oil, especially synthetic.

I change mine every 5k, its just easier. I dont want to wait until 10, and 8 would require another service stop.

I do notice a little more power/smoothness/fuel economy uptick, after an oil change. Usually lasts me 500 miles or so.

I’m just done attempting extended drains on oil changes. 5,000 miles is all I’ll go now. Played around with the 7,500-10,000 mile oil change for a year or two...and at the end my engine began consuming oil. Not sure if it was directly related to the extended drains, but it sure was a coincidence. Oil is cheap, why bother.

I personally think there's some placebo effect. Good to read some feedback on intervals as I was just thinking about this the other day. My Toyota dealer has always done 5K on my 460 - I recently started taking the LS to a local indy who does 7,500 miles. I wasn't quite comfortable with that so took it in at roughly 6,400 miles. My light comes on at about 4,500 reminding me for service so that is slightly annoying to drive another 3K and see that every time I start the car.

To be honest, I haven't really been there in 15 or so years...when I was young, I thought lubricant mattered more than (I feel) they really do now . But I remember serious arguments back in those days and Heaven Help You if you disagreed with any of the forum "experts"!

If you are changing oil at the right times then you should notice zero difference in driving/performance, it is the same with any fluid change or maintenance. The problem is when you notice differences in the way it drives/operates, that means the fluids or parts were past their useful design life and there must have been some degradation to effect the car negatively. I don't notice any difference when I change my fluids because I don't wait too long to change them.

I hardly think 5k miles, 1/2 as long as the factory recommended interval is too long. I think really its just a placebo effect, like how a car feels better when its clean.
