Using isofix points with middle car seat?

Does anyone know if it's ok to use the isofix points on either side of the middle seat to attach a baby seat in the middle seat? I am trying to fit my 6 and 8 year olds in the outer seats in their booster seats (which don't use latch points). The middle seat would be for my soon-to-be infant.

your best bet might be to put a booster in the middle and use the baby seat in the passenger side, there youd use the correct anchors and it shouldn't affect available space much.

Putting the booster in the middle is the correct approach. The booster simply raises the child to a level where the seat belts are effective. The middle portion of the rear seat was not designed to securely anchor an infant car seat.

You should not use the latch anchors on the outboard seats to secure a carseat in the middle seat. That has to be done with the seatbelt.
You can certainly do it safely with the belt, just not with latch.

Got it! I somewhat assumed this was the case, but I couldn't actually find any documentation that specified what could be used in the middle seat versus the side seats.
Next question is what are people using for booster seats that are narrow enough but still a decent booster? I picked up a pair of Chicco GoFit Backless boosters. They're a hair too wide to fit side by side in the middle and outer seat. They end up canted off kilter a little when infant base and boosters are all in there.

If you are using the center position and anchoring it with the seat belt then please make sure that you lock the seat belt properly. Once its tight you have to pull it a little bit so that the seat belt retractor locks. Car manufacturers moved to infant seat anchors about 8 - 10 years ago as many people did not install the car seat properly. In an accident there was a big risk of the car seat being thrown forward if the retractor had not locked. These instructions should help.
