I haven't changed the oil yet on my car as I couldn't get the filter cover off and had to take it to my mechanic. However, I just changed a friend's Mazda & it also uses 0W-20 synthetic and the used oil was SUPER thin, almost to the point that it sloshed around like black water.
Do you get the same "output" when you guys drain your old oil? I've never experienced this before and am curious if this is normal 0W-20 or if the oil that came out was crap. Thanks!

Mine (castrol edge 0-20 with 6500 miles) was pretty dark and thin when it came out. Not a scientific tribological analysis by any means.
Our motors beat up the oil, that’s for sure.

Did mine last night after just over 10000km (6000miles). Was calendar late by 3 months tho. Heavy city cycle driving downtown a lot since lockdown.
Castrol 0w-20 coming out was about as thin as the fresh 0w-20 going in.
Properly blacked out like what you imagine for used oil tho.
