Default 2010+ Radio Into A 2007

I have a friend that picked up an immaculate 2007 Lexus LS 460. He wants to change out the radio to the 2010+ version but I am not sure if it is possible. I have searched here along with Google and haven't found any info on this. He also wants to swap to the taillights too but I haven't searched for that yet. Any insight on these upgrades? Thanks for any help.

Interested to know the outcome because I have a 2010 and like the 2007 style taillamps better.

If it has the Mark Levinson system then you can't swap them out as the wiring harnesses are different. Additionally the 2007 - 2009 ML systems were far better than the 2010 - 2012 systems.

Thanks for the info. Were they better sound wise or functionality/quality?

TRUST ME, If you have a ML system from 2007, don't mess with it... I have a 2014 and the 2007 ML system was the best sounding system of any LS I have heard... and I like higher end audio systems.

Much better sound. Functionality was the same, except 2010 - 2012 had bluetooth audio

I have a 2008 ML system and mine sounds great. I probably have the best sound of ANY LS460 in the Country. And, my car is the prettiest too. I'm just having fun guys....
