Default 2017 LS 460L Ultra vs 2014-15 LS 600h

Some of you know what got me going on this, but for the sake of discussion...

Assuming you could get a 2017 LS460L Ultra with 10-20K miles, with CPO warranty through May 2022 for $52-55K or a...

2014-15 LS 600h with less than 40K miles, hybrid battery warranty through 2022 for $52-55K; which would you lean toward. And would you even pay that much? Book value is pretty meaningless with so few 2013-2016 600h cars on the market, but most references would book it in the high 40s, maybe low 50s. Auction value is high $40s with that mileage. But they are so unique, it's hard to value the late year models. There is a 2013 600h with 8K miles in California asking $60K for some time now.

The better performance and smoothness of the 600h are known, but it also comes with a higher risk for repair costs. But when they work, those of you that have one rave about them.
An extended warranty is probably in the $3000 range, which puts the 600h in the high $50s compared to the Ultra, so call it a $5K variance.

I'm drawn to the uniqueness of the 600h, but the somewhat rationale part of me says the 2017 is a no-brainer.

Thoughts?

Your specs for the two cars are incomplete, making it difficult to compare and choose one. Are they both equipped with DRCC and LKA? Are they both equipped with air suspension?

Is the 460L an AWD like the 600hL, and do you need AWD? I prefer AWD in MO but not needed in TX.

Is the 600hL an executive package or UL? Does it matter to you which package you have? I prefer the UL.

Maps could be displayed full screen on the Nav screen in 2016 and 2017 but not earlier cars. Is this important for you? I would prefer the full screen maps.

I have never driven a 600hL but I certainly can see its charm. All other things (specs) being equal, I would choose the 2017 460L because the lower mileage and newer car are worth more to me than the hybrid drive.

I spotted a 600hl near me... Very cheap... It needs control arms, air suspension and has a exhaust leak. 300k Kilometre, 9k$ Canadian.

Equivalent of approx 6500 USD, with 190K miles... I have never changed control arms or air suspension, and expect the exhaust leak might mean to change the O2 sensors... I heard its pretty costly... but the car comes with a conversion kit from air... which i'd probably sell to pay for a true air suspension

If you're going to keep it for a long time, get the 460.

High mileage LS600s scare me, and I have a high mileage AWD LS460.

Comparably equipped, the 600 originally stickered for about 30% more than a 460 L, so the premium now is minimal. It is worth it if you want something that is both truly special and unique. That said, being well into the 50s for a car that is now 6 (and soon 7) years old seems like a stretch unless it is ideally equipped in both color(s) and options. There are so few of either model available at any given time that one must be prepared to jump on what one considers a perfect candidate because one could wait a very long time until another comes along.

I've owned scores of cars during the course of our 39 year marriage. My wife has rarely paid attention to any of them, but she sure likes the 600!
