Hey CL fam
I looked through quite a few threads here and watched a ton of YouTube videos on painting calipers and finally decided to paint my own.
I chose to go with Duplicolor’s yellow caliper paint and Clear Engine Enamel for the gloss/top coat (both came from O’Reilly). I didn’t want to do just a solid color caliper so I decided to add black decals to make the yellow pop a little more. For the decals I went with the “08-14 IS-F OEM Replacement Caliper Decals” from motogfx.
Since I’d already be working in that area I also decided to replace all 4 rotors with a drilled and slotted set from PowerStop.
I think it came out pretty good. I was able to do 4 coats of the yellow on each caliper using only one can of paint.
I even had enough left over to spray my key just for the hell of it 🤪
I have a few spots to touch up on it but I like it.
All the products I use are linked below.
Let me know what you guys think.
Looks good, but I may be biased because that shade of yellow is probably my favorite color. I'm planning to do my calipers too, but still deciding on what sort of obnoxious color to paint them.
Thanks. I went w/ yellow to add a pop of color. My car is black w/ 5% tint all around and wheels are brushed so the yellow calipers give it a little flavor.
