I had a 04 ls430 for 4 years, in that time period I put 40+k miles on it, only major repair I did to it during my ownership was rear struts (diy). I’m pretty mechanically inclined, I pretty much do all of my own maintenance & wrenching, unless of course I lack motivation 😜
Anyways, I bought a 14 Passat SEL premium tdi after selling the lexus for the fuel mileage (gets 650+ per tank full); owning a ls430 for that long kind of spoiled me & I’ve got my eye on 16ls460fsport - folks that have had there f sport, can you tell me what you like/dislike about the vehicle? Unusual quirks/repairs you’ve incurred (not referring to routine maintenance).
Vehicle I’m debating on pulling trigger on is a 16 f sport with 22k.
Thanks,
v

I have a 14 F Sport. I love the look. I get compliments often. The interior is great and looks amazing. Very comfortable car. My issues (probably just my car), noisy interior. I hear cars pass me by. I have to turn up the music loud. Rattles. I pretty much know where they are and I've attempted 3 different times, but no luck as of yet. Brake dust is heavy. Yes yes yes, I know, I can spend money to get better brakes than Lexus chose, but should I have to?
I'm sure the one you're looking at will be fine. These mostly seem to be with my particular F Sport. Good luck.

Not an owner but I can list pros and cons:
Pros:
Sporty driving experience
Cons:
More expensive to buy, more expensive to maintain due to the nature of its low volume production performance parts
Overall:
Wish I had one

it also has high performance badges that are brought to you by the letter “F”
The only package that comes close is the AWD option that has shorter gearing than RWD and 14” front brakes. AWD and F sport have the same high performance rear brakes for enhanced performance on and off the street. In order to keep the AWD LS460 from cannibalizing too many LF-A sales, they hamstrung the AWD’s motor to a mere 345hp. If they let the AWDs horses run, it would have had 0-60 times measurable only by a lab (a few femtoseconds), and a top speed of over 9000mph.

F Sport LSes all have air suspension which can become a maintenance issue down the road.
