Can you define "out of date" I am using a version 12.xxx.xxx and it works great on both my 06 SC 430 and my 10 460L. Stay away from v13.xxx.xxx as it has a ton of issues. Go to post 155 of this thread and you can get a version 12 of Techstream with no issues.

What sort of cable do you need? I have an existing OBB2 cable... it will work with Techstream?

It is highly recommended that you use and old XP 32 bit computer. If you go over to the SC 430 forum and do a search you will find more info regarding using Techstream.

If you want a "registered version" and newest version. You can sign up for free, download the software, then POST in this forum with key, and they will give your code. It just give unlimited time frame. I tried it. I did run into issues on the newest one.
I think it's just a key gen they are using but, they do give yo a code..

There is a thing, some version of the cable with some versions of Techstream don't work right. If you have 2010 (for example) car and the earlier version works fully with the software you have, your better off keeping it. Or try on a machine that you have a backup of...
Trust me on this, You'll have limits on some newer versions with a older cable.... It will run and a lot things will work, for the most part..
I do like that in the software (in newer versions when you have an internet connection), it will show if there is a new calibration update...

It can be done on Windows 10 but you better bring your A game because it is a XP based software. and on 10 you need to be able to go in and changes the registery so you better know your stuff because for most folks it is way over their head. Here is a link over in the SC 430 forum that I highly and I do mean highly recommend you go read.

Reminds of the McLaren F1 from the early 90's and how the diag software runs on good ole' DOS.

Personally, I have been using a x86 version of Windows 7 for mine, on a very old dual core laptop. It's been working fine (it's a laptop I keep in the garage, and when I need it, it boots fine).
I have heard some of the newer versions (12+) do run on Windows 10 but, I have not personally tested it.
My old laptop got for free from my office (they were dumping it), and I dropped in a 60gb SSD to make it run ok
