Car was cutting power to electrical components while running. Replaced alternator and battery to be safe. Purchased parts from Toyota service center. Put on by local shop. Problem continues next day. So I replaced alternator again and it drove fine for about 5 days and now the problem is back. 2007 LS 460 200k miles.

Please don't take this as a wise azz answer but a good rule of thumb that you've learned the hardway is to determine the problem prior to replacing parts. It can be and usually is a lot cheaper. I would question the shop as to why troubleshooting wasn't performed before installing the new parts, especially if they suggested them. Batteries can be easily checked and done so usually free of charge at various parts' houses. The shop has done you a disservice.
Good suggestion above to make sure the battery cables, both ends, have clean, tight connections and that the cables are in good condition. Good luck.

I did have both checked and they were bad. Battery cables are clean and intact. That’s the reason I feel something may be causing the alternator to malfunction or go bad.

I'd make a list of what's not working and look in the fuse block area if you haven't already. Intermittent problems can be time consuming to diagnose, but it's generally time well spent.

It all works fine until the voltage drops and it cuts off things one by one to conserve power.

If they are using remanufactured alternators, they really could be defective.

It was a connection loose to the fuse box under the hood near the battery. I found it myself and tightened it and voltage went up to 14 immediately.
