Default Driving modes

Does anyone know if it is safe to drive in height high mode all the time?

And is it bad to stay in sport or sport plus mode?

Mine doesn't seem to ride as well in high height mode. I've tried to leave it there several times and always ended up turning if off when I was out of the snow or whatever.

True. The only reason I ask is because I tend to switch from eco mode to sport and back to eco pretty quickly. I only use sport modes when I have to, and then switch back. I dont usually stay in sport modes too long, so just wanted to know if it was bad to switch back and forth that fast/often.

Hmmm, on mine I just recently drove it in height high mode for about 30minutes with out any issues and it stayed in that mode. Reason I am doing this for now is because the wheels I currently have on rub and I am waiting to get the fenders rolled.

No issue, but it does ride a little harder in high mode. The car will actually lower down to the normal ride height at highway speeds even when its in high mode, it just wont lower below the normal height at those speeds like it does when its in regular mode.

Do you know if it's bad for the car when you switch from eco to sport plus mode and back often or quick? Because I thought in sport plus mode the air suspension becomes more aggressive and makes the air suspension work more.

I was wondering this myself. What about changing the height high while driving rather than in park. Any problems with that?

no problems doing that

i bought the car from a moron who drove it around in height high mode all the time because the air shocks were completely blown. When in normal mode, the car drove like it had no shocks at all, just springs. In height high mode it bounced less but rode like an empty cab over truck. Of course switching between the modes on the fly had no issues.

When I converted to regular spring suspension it rides really firm but no bouncing, and much more comfortable than with the air suspension on height high.

Nope, no reason not to go to high when driving. Just remember it takes it like 45 seconds to raise and lower.

The only potential negative is to not be sitting still holding the brakes while it is adjusting height position. It will tend to bind up the suspension if the brakes are held. I don't know if it would cause any damage (not likely I think), but when you let go of the brakes you'll notice it kind of jerk up or down (depending) because it was bound up with the brakes on. I usually do it when moving slow or idling in Park with no brakes. Or I switch to / from Height High while on the interstate. No issue. If it were an issue, Toyota would have programmed it to only make the adjustment when it was appropriate.
