Default Chrome trim to black questions

One of the mods I've been considering is painting the chrome trim around the windows and on the door handles to a glossy black to match the rest of the car. I've only seen one photo of this done on the LS460 for my body (07-10) but it was on IG and the photo isn't large enough to get a get look. I've seen this done on the IS & RC a lot but I'm more curious for the LS because I feel as the chrome trim really screams mid 2000s lol also I think all black would look more aggressive.

If anyone has done this pleaseeee post a photo and share what products you used if you DIY, or would you just recommend a shop doing it.

thanks in advance!

It can be done but take some good prep work to get the paint to stick. You might consider a wrap.

I had mine wrapped by a professional, and painted the exhaust vents myself.

Thank you for the kind words! I know most of us are cool here, but to make sure we don't hijack the OP's thread further, here's more pics of my sled in the build section. Due to work and the holidays, haven't done much lately but do have a few more subtle changes (cosmetically) in the works. 2007 Lwb Renew & Refresh - Page 2 - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion

Thanks brother, really appreciate the compliment! I had all the wrap done 9 months ago, and not a single issue with any of it. Since I didn't know of anyone that did it or had any recommendations, I researched shops online, emailed some, and ended up physically visiting 3 before deciding. One of the things that sold me was that he uses 3M 2080 wrap, so I would recommend checking out some places in person. Also, if a vehicle is in good condition, it's often easier to wrap an entire vehicle versus small individual parts.

If you're interested, there's more photos in the build section 2007 Lwb Renew & Refresh - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion

Difficult to say because I had the carbon fiber wrap done on the 460's hood, roof, and trunk lid as well as the hood and roof of my RAM. I'm working on a new grill/front end and had him wrap some small pieces for me too. It wasn't outrageously expensive, but I would definitely shop around. One place I visited wanted a lot more but I felt the work ethic and commitment to detail was inferior.
