Did lexus change how the door holds open - door check
You know how the door only holds open when
you reach 3 points. I remember reading some place I don’t remember what car, they redesigned the door check so that it holds the door wherever you leave it or at more points.
The door check model number changes in the 2013, can anyone With later model years confirm if they ever changed how the door check works ?
thanks

No, my 2015 and 2017 only held the door in 3 positions.

The S Class did, but they did away with it in I believe 2016. Rolls Royces and Bentleys do that.

So in the door hinge there are 3 detents where the door will stay open on its own. On higher end cars the hinge will hold the door at any position

I had a Toyota that had no door position detents at all. I had to be careful getting out of that car because that door came swinging out and nothing held it back.

I’m poor and I don’t/can’t buy stuff on credit here in Ukraine so I’m liking the new flying spur that’s out this year, I’ll wait a few years when the value drops like a rock and that be my next lux sedan. I do want some kind of truck or suv, FJ cruiser or something, the new rav4 prime mpg is insanely tempting will cost next to nothing in a few years that’s when I’ll buy it lol. I’ve bought 2 new cars before and I’m done lol none of that anymore
