I am prob one of the most frugal people you’ll ever meet, hence why I try to DIY on the car maintenance.

anyway, if someone else has used the $8.5 engine filters and haven’t noticed a diff, I’m all for it
One of the most trusted and knowledgeable guys (Roadfrog) on this forum suggested those way back. That's what he used.
Chris, (Roadfrog) was The Man, and, he was always here to help us rookies out. He, like Steve (SW17LS) both left
this board and bought some other car and left us here to figure things out on our own. SAD how they did us !!!

LMAO.....I think we'll survive just fine.

Anyway, I find it helpful to cross reference walmart, amazon, etc. with the manufacturer of the product, as sometimes there are minute differences in model #'s, SKU's, description, and so on.

Looks like both of the Fram filters show the same size specs.
Walmart shows them to be the same price. Hmmm.

Hey, I'm still here! lol

Really any high quality paper filter will work fine. I wouldn't go to K&N for the engine air filters. I did use their cabin filter for a while and liked it.

I currently use bosch for my cabin it’s blue hepa type filter, I’m thinking of putting something else infront of the cabin filter to prevent dust from getting into the glove compartment. I also use Bosch for the engine because it get them for a good price. They are paper filters and fram and Bosch etc will be similar quality wise, theres no such thing as a certain amount of km/miles for air filters, you should check them every so often, here where I live it’s super dusty so they don’t last as long I think 6 months I change them out.

K&N filters are great. I've run them on other cars with success. The LS460 however will see no tangible benefit from the K&N filter. You should be good with OE, Fram or Denso filters.

Project Farm found Wix and Purolator to be the best after-market filters. They have yet to test OEM filters, but I hope they do some day. If you want to check out the video, go to YouTube and search "Project Farm air filter test."

thanks. I ended up getting the $8.5 ones that were linked above as others on this forum have used without issue.
