Mirrors not auto folding in upon engine shutoff

I recently purchased a used 08' LS-460L and have soon discovered that my auto folding mirrors aren't working properly. With the vehicle running: switch to mirrors out>mirrors move out, switch to mirrors in>mirrors move in, switch to auto>mirrors stay in. I have tried different variations with the vehicle both on and off and the mirrors don't move unless the vehicle is on and I select "in" or "out".
Any ideas on what could be wrong?

not sure if this helps, but if your switch is on the L or the R, the mirrors will tilt downwards when you put the car in reverse. If you want the mirrors to fold, put it on the auto (middle) and you have to actually lock ur car when you exit. What happens when you lock ur car? Do the mirrors fold?

Correct, the 460 operates differently than the 430. The mirrors auto fold when the doors are locked, not when the transmission is turned off.

Was it not one of the personalized settings in 2008 to have the mirrors fold when the engine is turned off. I recently got a 2021 ES F-Sport and after a week had the dealer change the setting from folding when in auto and the car is locked to folding when the engine is turned off. I don't lock my car when the car is in my garage but wanted the mirrors to fold and they now do just that. It was a dealer only setting.

I don’t believe that’s possible on the LS460
