Help Me Diagnose Electrical Problem - No Power Rear Door
#16
LS600h Yes, read my post above from 1/14/21:
"Turned out to be the door lock actuator after all. The first replacement assembly was no good. Door dome light bulb was out - totally separate issue, and no bad fuses. That's what threw me, having more than one problem at the same time, and also getting a part from a dependable seller that I assumed had to be working. Now the door locks, unlocks, and self-closing feature works again. The trunk light is now working too, so that power must somehow route through the door or depend on the electrical connections there. Thanks for all the input!"

$1,007 sounds like a bargain. I had the passenger side rear door actuator on my 2006 LS430 replaced by a dealer here in the Denver, CO area at the cost of $1,435. It sounds like Lexus has solved the major problem that I had with my car - the door would not latch when the actuator went out. I had to drive the car with the door flopping , completely free from the latch and held only by the hinges about a mile or two in city traffic to get to a store where I could buy a rope to tie the door by the window frame to the opposite side door and then take it to the dealer for repair, which took about three days to complete with delay in getting the part in. This was a major, dangerous design flaw. What if I'd been on a road trip and this had happened? I can't imagine driving down the highway with the door unsecured because the latch would not work. Nor could the self-closing door latch be replaced with a standard latch. What a nightmare. I am glad to learn that the issue has been corrected and that the door can be closed securely when the self-closing feature goes out.
