Auto adjust headlight always down
Hello, I am having an issue where the headlight always seem to be pointed down without any lights or OBD codes indicating that there is a problem. I have recently got this car as a project after the passenger side was smashed from a collision. It seems like the headlights pointed level when one headlight was missing (passenger side unplugged because it was broken in the accident). Another thing to note is that we replaced the wheels with one that is 20 inches if that may help. Lastly, the headlights do not go up or down to calibrate on startup.
PS. The car has the air suspension package which might affect the leveling system according to the service manual I purchased.
Here is a couple of pictures of the incident:
And here is a picture of what the headlights are doing currently (please note this was taken when the car was on an inclined driveway):

Thank you.

Are you using a new headlight on that side? The leveling motor is built into the headlight assembly so if the new headlight will not level you should be checking the plugs or the headlight ECU which is right behind the headlights. It could have been damaged in the accident. Also the air suspension compressor is beneath the headlight assembly and could have been damaged. I'm pretty sure that both of those would throw error codes.

Yeah, I have the service manual too that says that, however the manual also says that if any malfunction is detected it will flash the afs light, which the afs light is off and the OBD does not display any AFS codes.

Which picture? Also the only codes currently on the car (scanned 131 possible OBD areas including suspension and afs) are only tpms (had new ones put into the new wheels) and the rear solar sensor.

It does not go up or down when started up, it just stays facing down. I talked with the lexus dealer and they recommended to sit in the car for 20 minutes and then it should calibrate which did not work either. Trying to reset the computer by disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes right now.

What position is the headlight stalk in? Do you have it set to auto? Years ago someone stole the headlights off my LS 400 back when HID bulbs were really expensive. Anyway, I bought some used headlight assemblies but they cut the wire harness to get the lights out so I rewired it and used electrical tape to close it up. At some point the leveling function stopped working and I could not figure out why until one day I took the lights out to see what was going on. Turns out the wires had become undone but I could not see because both halves were still wrapped in the electrical tape. I had that head light leveling error on the dash all the time though. You should really remove the headlight and inspect the harness as well as the head light ECU.
