front strut replacement question and axle replacement questiond me
I have a 2010 Lexus Ls 460 L with stock air. I took the car to the Lexus dealership for an inspection. They told me I need to replace my fronts which is over 4500 and my rear axle which is over 1500 at the dealership. Do I have any cheaper options? Can I buy the struts and axle myself and if so where can I purchase from?

Yes, get OEM parts on Ebay from TripleCreations and install it yourself. You will save 50% or more on parts and 100% on labor.
The axle will require a tool to get it off. I have replaced a front one with an OTC sliding hammer with a hook attachment off Amazon. I suspect, you will also need a brass punch rod to drive the new axle into the differential. At least, it was necessary for the front axle installation.

Were you having any issues with the suspension and axle before taking it to the dealer? If not get a second opinion. I had the same experience with a dealer recently and I called BS to their face. They don't really want to do any real diagnosing of any issues, they just look in techstream and want to change parts. There's no money in diagnosing the failure of small parts or systems.
yes i already know the axle was leaking and as far as the struts my ride had gotten rougher but didnt think nothing of it
