Default 2008 LS600 Understanding Codes

Hello all, newer to the forum after I picked up my salvaged 2008 LS600H. I also own a 2010 GX460, which hasn't required anything special as she only has 77k miles, so I'm learning on the LS. I repaired the cosmetic damage and the vehicle is now on the road after passing enhanced inspection. The tpms warning has been on since I acquired the vehicle. Pressure in all 5 tires is good. I thought since someone put aftermarket rims on, there may no longer be sensors but when I had the enhanced inspection done, the mechanic checked all but the spare and said he was getting a signal. I'm still trying to figure out all the details but got Techstream connected and have the following 2 current codes for the tpms system (C2125, C2126). I'm assuming since the description is transmitter ID 5 not received that this may be related to the spare. Can anyone provide any guidance on how to identify the culprit or clear the warning from the dash?

Also, my parking assist is not working. From the damage, I replaced the front bumper cover. The adaptive cruise sonar module bracket was also damaged, so I fixed that as well. Scanning, I have a C1646 (power steering control system invalid) and C1AEE (APGS Sensor Communication Circuit). I did some searches and didn't find a ton of info. I'm not sure how to identify what may be causing this issue. Possible bad sensor? If so, how do I identify the culprit. Thank you for your help as I continue to better understand this vehicle.

Hi Matty,

Nice to hear you got her on the road.

To save time and frustration this is one case where I do recommend having a tire shop install a new tpms sensor and program it to the vehicle for you.

I'm working on a similar issue on my LS600 too. In my case the spare tire was missing. My spare happened to be ID 1 otherwise we are doing the same procedure. I purchased a used wheel and installed this new tpms sensor.

Denso 550-0103

I would guess your TPMS sensor in your spare tire has a dead battery. They are not replaceable so you'll need a new sensor too.
You will need to make a list of all of your tpms numbers. In order to add 1 new tpms you will have to enter all of the codes in. Go to live data on the tpms screen within techstream. Write down all of the ID's.

Currently that is where I'm at. I'm in the process of registering all of the tpms sensors. Apparently some cable / techstream versions have trouble with tpms systems. I'll post more once I get time to look into mine further. I'm getting an error after I enter all 5 of my ID's in. FYI Discount tire refused to install the new tpms sensor without replacing the 8 year old spare tire. I ended up going down the street to walmart tire center. Their systems were down. So I drove down the block a bit further to another tire place. That tire shop replaced the sensor but couldn't get it to "wake up". I ended up going to back to discount tire to have them wake the sensor up. Can't anything be easy lol.

I went back to discount tire. They used their scanner to input all my tpms ID's, free of charge. That issue is now resolved.

I'm not familiar with the other codes. Did you replace any front bumper parking sensors?

I did not replace any of the sensors. The bumper cover had a dent between two of the sensors and they looked ok. I wasn't sure if there was a test to find out what sensors were functional. Maybe a resistance test or something that can be identified through techstream?

I'm not familiar with how to test them. I seem to remember reading it is common for them to go bad but look fine.

You probably read this but... https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...15-ls460l.html

If your radar cruise works I would assume its ok. The way the radar was hanging in the pictures it looked like it got a good whack.

I wish you were nearby so we could compare how they perform. How many mph can you get yours up to on purely battery power? The I've gotten up to around 25mph in our neighborhood. I have to be very very easy on the gas pedal to not engage the gas engine. Our GS450h is quicker to gain speed using purely battery power. I'm wondering if the hybrid battery in the LS600 I just purchased is starting to show its age? Or perhaps it is normal, it is a much heavier car.

The cruise doesn't work at the moment either. When attempting to turn it on, the light flashes a few times on the dash then it displays a message indicating there is an issue. Is the radar module also used in conjunction with the parking sensor system? If so, it is possible that module is bad and resulting in both issues.

I'm still learning about this car. If I'm easy on the accelerator it will go up to 20-25 before the engine kicks in. If I'm at all hard on the throttle or going up hill, engine kicks in pretty quickly.

When I have some free time, I'll have to play some more with techstream and learn a bit more about it's functionality. I have a buddy who is a Toyota mechanic, so I might have to get his assistance.

I'm still trying to sort mine out too. You've had yours a whole two weeks longer than I've had mine

I have very little knowledge of the radar cruise or parking system. I do know on the LS460 you can have the parking assist system without the radar cruise control package.

There is a website where you can pay for a 3 day pass and download the manuals for those sections. This is a site I have used. It looks like they have a free trial.

Thanks for the accelerator description. Sounds like mine is driving the same.

If the millimeter wave sensor is damaged (module behind the emblem) that will affect the radar cruise and make it inoperable. I believe you can still use the regular cruise control though.

I just pulled the car into the garage after getting home from church and hit the cruise button on the stalk. It stayed illuminated and said cruise ready. I hit the sonar button on the steering wheel and the display showed the picture of the car. Maybe I have an intermittent issue or something needs calibrated. I will try to tackle that one in between work and 2 small children, haha.

I think you have to be moving for it to actually engage. I never use cruise in any of my vehicles so I don't know for a fact.
