What are your guys thoughts on driving in snow in your LS
I want to know how everyone feels their LS460 is in the snow. Mine is AWD and I drove it for the first time in the snow today. I have Bridgestone Turanzas on my car, and the cars performance in snow exceeded my expectations. I thought it was going to be horrible but it was decent. With snow tires it would be good in my opinion.
I've got a Lexus LX for when it gets real deep, but right now I'm on Sailun Iceblazers and I can say its far better than any AWD SUV on allseasons I've ever driven in the snow.
I had a chance too to drive my AWD in snow. I knew it handles fine in snow because I have read reviews about snow handling prior the purchase. As with all cars, slops are where extra precaution needs to taken especially when going down hill. I have to try the "Snow" mode for the drive train yet.
I drove mine in snow a couple of times, no issues at all. We had one day where everything had glazed over to ice on our local roads, and snow mode worked well for that - prevented wheelspin when taking off from an intersection.
My previous two cars were RWD, and I never had a problem. I did get snow tires for the S2000, and it stuck to the road like glue.
I had my LS in the snow twice, once it was slushy stuff 2 years back and with crap Sunny tires. It was horrible. I bought a set of Michelin All-season with good snow reviews and it was great in the snow coming down from upstate New York to NYC over the new years holiday. I borrowed my parent's GX this weekend, unrelated to the snow we are expecting, and whatever tires come on that thing new suck in the snow. I feel my LS would have been so much better with the Michelin's today, but the ride height would be an issue with the snow we are expecting throughout the day. Moral of the story is: The LS is great in the snow with the right tires, as long as you can clear it.
I have The P7s in my car which is RWD and it was no fun driving in the snow this morning. Even with the car in snow more which helped some I was related to 20-40 mph on the interstate. I have driven my 400 in snow and never felt the need to have snow tires before. How fast are you guys driving in the snow? Maybe I'm just being dumb but I'm used to driving 80+ on any other day so that 20mph was guy wrenching lol. I didn't feel the need to push it and I even got up to 50 mph in some areas once I was closer to NYC. I'm not looking forward to my commute home this afternoon.

Michelin CrossClimate2 tires provide confidence in all driving modes. I can’t talk them up enough. Only downside is ride firmness over bad roads.
Good luck and be safe driving home.

You find them to be more firm? I have Continental Wintercontact SI on my volvo, and I found they softened the ride quite a bit.

That's not an option since I'm feeling all the little bumps now because I have an issue with the right front actuator and I don't like the feeling but thanks for the recommendation.

That surprises me, because I was surprised by how well my RWD LS460L did in the snow on the P7s. May be that the traction/skid control systems were revised. My LS400 and LS430 were HORRIBLE in the snow, I found the RWD 460 very drivable.
Of course, the AWD is way better. My 2015 AWD was great in the snow.

Well I was on the road like 3 am so the snow was coming down hard and it's cold so that made it even worse. There were a couple of inches and the car was sliding a little so I had to slow it down. Snow mode helped but maybe it has something to do with my shocks being stuck on stiff for the time being. I have something going on with the right front actuator. I already ordered 2 front shocks from triple creations in Japan but I looked at the harness on the actuator and it looks like 2 of the wires are damaged. The actuator is good since I checked it's ohms.
