Default Backseat Removal

Getting prepared for the air to coil swap and have all my parts ready, up to me now to get the backseat out and have it ready.
I have watched you tube videos and other things I could find on the web but cant seem to get much out there. It looks fairly easy, however, I have tried to pop-up the seat bottoms out of their tabs and it feels like I'm going to break something or do damage. Anybody have any tips on this first step? Thanks

It takes some effort especially if it was not done in a while. Pull the seat up a little a bit, and if you look under the seat you should see the mounts. Pull up exactly next to it.

The seat bottoms are easy. Pull for all you’re worth. The seat backs are a pain in the ***.

Be careful pulling the bottom because it WILL bend even when your pulling in the right spot. You won't even realize it until you compare it to the other side. All me how I know.

this is the best way to remove the seat bottoms.

Thanks guys. Pull hard is no joke, I used the biggest pry tool I had, much bigger than the one in the video. Already bent the set just like I knew I would. Still no go. Thinking of a small thin block of wood for more leverage or big pry bar. Funny, that video makes it look so easy, maybe because my seats have never been apart.

Try spraying a little bit of silicon on the latches, it might free it up or make it easier to pull out.

Thumbs up

Thanks, the silicone is a great idea for the other side! I got the seat finally. Took a common size pry bar and it worked for me in thee opposite direction putting pressure on the wires next to the clip in the upward direction . Of course, now I have to try and massage the wires that are all bent up from previous attempts! But I think the silicone will help on the other seat for sure!

Of course having issues with the rear seat back now. Got it off hinges but cant see where to unplug it fully to pull it out, I see a yellow plug near what looks like an ECU/ECM on seat back, but nothing that would fully let me pull seat. Am I going to have to pull off the side panel for access?

Depending on configuration, there are different harnesses. One you can access through arm rest area, another one, in my case, was on the left side of the seat.

He did make it look so easy in that video but that's probably due to experience. If I remember correctly I was able to lean the seat forward a good deal to get to any word harnesses. Getting it off was easy, getting it back on took a bit of time.
