guys as you know our rims come with a sort of shoulder in the area where the lug nuts go into, which is why the factory nuts have a washer sort of thing on them..... now am i supposed to get lug nuts with the same washer type thing? if not then what exactly is holding the rims in place? just the tightness of the bolt against the hole? and the fact that the hole and cone is tapered? so can i use this nuts or do i have to get ones with washers
Are you trying to get new lug nuts for your OEM wheels? If so, you need the mag seat ones with washers, since they are FLAT. If you have aftermarket wheels, they will most likely be conical or at a 60 degree angle. There are also ball seat which are curved.

It appears the "washer type thing" is more a cosmetic design and may protect the large lug nut opening of the OEM wheels from damage from technicians' impact sockets. So long as the lug nuts are acorn/conical shaped, they should work properly on the OEM wheels.
I just took a look at my OEM 19" Lexus wheel in my garage and the mag seat is definitely not for cosmetic purposes.
Mag seat washer holds the wheel in place so if you're running OEM wheels, you need mag seat lugs as well.
And OP, here's a tip: don't be condescending to people who are trying to help you...
The washer is not cosmetic. Just like with any bolt that cake for a washer it's there so you don't damage the surface when tightening the lug nut. That's why you can't take the washer off the lug. They don't trust ppl not to torque the heck out of the lug and potentially damage the seating area of the rim.
