Good morning, friends. My 2010 LS is painted with beautiful Matador Red Mica finish. While I really like the color I find that the paint is very prone to chipping, bumper, hood, front fenders, both mirrors…more than other cars I’ve owned. I repainted a fender only to find that a stone damaged it again.
Those who have Mica finishes, can you describe your experiences please?
I have found that to be true. I have the Deep Sea MIca Blue and it seems to chip very easy. I have had the front end of the LS repainted once already. I try to keep up with the ink pen but after awhile you just give up
Looks nice! I've used Xpel on my bicycle in certain areas -- it takes patience and care to apply well. To apply on a car would probably take some pretty good skill!!!

bdw, agreed I paid for my front bumper 450$, in my opinion worth every penny and you can ceramic coat it
for the soft paint issue around the whole car gets expensive, that's why I like ceramic car pro uk 3.0 to protect and harden a little more than factory...
I had the front bumper redone 3 years ago and since all my driving is highway at very high rates of speed I'm due for another repaint. Like Steve said ALL Lexus paint has been soft since they opened up shop.
I'm going to have to put some kind of wrap or protective coat on the next bumper repaint.
