2009 ls460 rwd cold air intake?
So has anyone found a cold air intake for the 4th Gen LS460? If so please to tell. I saw on ID injen has universal fit. I’ve searched a lot on google and on a few websites like autozone and priory’s are they only have the square/rectangle air filters and those say they boost airflow, HP, and performance I guess.

It will do nothing but hurt your engine, the stock induction system on the 460 is extremely well optimized from the factory.

oh okay so then I should just stick with getting the air filters since for some reason the air filters say they increase HP performance and such.

What you will get it increased silicate, (dirt) aluminum and iron (engine) in your oil. I did a Blackstone oil analysis test on my 2UR before, during and after a K&N filter change and threw it in the garbage when I got the results back.

Probably best to go with OEM replacements or equivalent and perhaps save some money, as well as save us from another debate/thread about which air filter to choose.

It would actually be a downgrade, the 460 has the best airbox of any of the UR equipped cars/trucks. The GS 460 is a great example of how a more normal setup doesn't produce as much power as the mirrored system in the LS
The ISF/GSF/RCF have to make due with the single box setup due to packaging constraints but the engine itself is superior in those cars.

There was already discussion on this

The LS is extremely well engineered out of the box and is difficult to improve on

Intake, headers, exhaust AND tune are different. The GS runs rich from the factory. stick with your factory intake setup.

The closest I got to a baseline number was with the Invidia midpipe installed. best of those runs was 290whp/290 torque. That midpipe does delete the secondary CATS so i feel it could have gained at max 10whp. I think its safe to say a stock GS460 is around 275/280 whp which would be around 18% drivetrain loss.
