Default How to check tire pressure sensors?

My light won’t go off in the dash. I am trying to figure out which sensor is out.

Take it to a local tire place and ask them to scan the sensors for you.

By first noting the tire pressure readings in the display, then letting air out of each tire one at a time, it can be determined which reading is for which tire location. Process of elimination will result in which sensor is not reading.

FWIW, I've been told by shops that the vast majority of problems are the result of failing sensor batteries. My light went on my "11 LS about a year ago and I thought I'd just wait until I got new tires as it's cheaper to do the job then. More recently while at the Dealer for my new dash, I asked about my light being on and was told they charge $40 to diagnose the system and then $165 a pop for the sensors (installed). I passed as I had ordered tires from Costco and was scheduled to have them installed. It was a/the batteries and they installed 5 new sensors for a total of $150 when replacing the tires. All is fine with the TPMS now.

When my TPSM light was on, I couldn't get a read out of the pressures.

Same here, nothing showed up on the display except a warning light. Mine quit working for a couple of months around the end of 2018, and then came back. They've been fine since then, but I'll have them checked/replaced next time I get tires.
