Nav system won't "forget" previous trips
The navigation system in my LS460L AWD has a strange problem...
It spontaneously "jumps" into route assistance mode (ie, it begins displaying the route) when I drive into any area/road where there once a route defined.
But I deleted all routes a couple of years back! And there are no longer any routes listed in the UI. But somehow it is still remembering the old, supposedly deleted routes!
I took it to the Lexus dealer, and they said they had never seen anything like this. So they disconnected the car's battery for several minutes, thinking this would erase the nav system's "memory" of the old routes.
But that didn't work... it's still displaying route assistance for the old (presumably deleted) routes (when I enter an area where a route was previously defined).
Is it possible that the nav system has a built-in battery to prevent it from losing routes when the car battery is disconnected?
I'm a retired computer programmer, and this "smells" like a bug in the nav system software.
Is a newer version of the software available for the 2012 LS?

Interesting problem! You can ask the dealer to update the Map data in your system which might delete all old info. Map updates are ~$250. Lexus does not update Nav or other infotainment software in the 4LS.

There was once a feature of the early versions of Lexus Enform called eDestinations. Required a subscription
after the initial 12 month trial and was dropped around 2017. It permitted Destinations you had researched and
entered into a desktop computer to be transferred through the Enform connections to the car. Similar to Enform
Destination Assistance (still available for a 36 month trial on 2020 & 2021's) except no need to tell an operator
where you were going. Your phantom routes might be somehow be linked to this obsolete program. What year
is your LS?
