Was this an option for gen4? i find it hard to believe that for the price this wasn't a standard item.

No HUD option in 4LS. There were a few and minor infotainment changes after the mid-gen refresh in 2013. Offering HUD would have involved a lot of changes to the dash, so it's not surprising that it became available only in the 5LS.

R Z :" I guess that's not an LS. Too Bad. My wife has it on her RX and when i go back to mine, i yearn for it. I see next gen has speed limits. Very nice.

I picked this one up for my Smart car and loved it. Haven't tried it on the LS, though. If people are interested I'll go try it out to make sure it works and take pics. (It didn't work on my Fiat 500e)

Not sure how much longer HUD will be around. It seems manufactures are moving towards the elongated LED dash display that runs from the instrument cluster over to where a Nav display would be. Essentially about 8" high and 4 feet wide integrating all information on what large panel.

GM bought Hughes Electronics for HUD technology and for what became On-Star.
