Ok here’s a bit of a story… my first set of cats were taken out because they were dusting and we wanted to prevent any potential engine issues, however the idiot relocated the oxygen sensors to some weird location stretching it and messing them up. So because of that it threw sone engine codes and when that happens it will give you VSC and PCS errors and the real world effect of that is cruise control stops working and Brake hold as well.

I looked at various options including fixing the exhaust system. But I’ve spent enough for now so I found out that the ECU can be flashed to a lower environmental standard thereby eliminating the first cats and sensors. I also opted for a power tune which supposedly increases the power by about 15% max.

I can tell you that it’s been 5 days or so since the flash the errors have not come back. And the power and smoothness is something new to me. It cost me 280 USD, I opted to split it to 2 visits , he read the file, next day I went back and the new one was loaded. Highway is still the same 10-11L / 100km. In the city I’ve yet to test it in my home city..

so if you live some place without periodic environmental checks this might be an option for you to solve some problems or gain some hp.
