Default Any major differences between a 2014 and a 2015 LS?

Hi fellow LS guys. Am looking at a 2014 LS460L, fully loaded including UL package. Well maintained. It has only 33K miles. I'd be coming from my pristine 08' LS standard. Any percievable differences between the 14', compared to the 15' through 17' I should be aware of?

If you want to get the most out of your infotainment screen jump to the 2016-2017. That gives you full screen access.

Thank you kindly R Z. Beyond that? Is the 2014 past the sticky interior issue? How about control arms etc.?

There have been essentially no reported sticky interior issues on the 2013 and newer LS cars. Also, there have been far fewer control arm issues, but being newer and with less miles, it may be too early to say that the issue was fully resolved. Brake actuator failure still crops up from time to time.

The subject car looks nice and would have had an original MSRP of just about $100,000 on the nose. The asking price may be a bit high, but what isn't these days? If you like the color combo and want a UL model, it may be the one to go for. Caveat: I hope the Lexus service history looks better than that reflected on the Carfax.

There's a small difference in the NAV system between the 2014 and the 2015 and between the 2015 and the 2016 cars. That's about it.

Tric, not sure if I actually listed which car it is in my initial post.

Anyway, the service history on Lexus Owners shows it’s been maintained well, and has only a shade over 33k miles. It’s an L version (which I’ve kinda always wanted) and fully loaded. It’s very pretty. They want $40k.

My 08’ has a shade over 113 K, and all known issues have been repaired under warranty, including the entire interior, as well as control arms, water pump, drive belt, and transmission serviced. Only other potential is brake actuator.

Just gotta decide if I want another car payment cuz I haven’t had one in about 5 years, BUT am trying to offset that against piece of mind…what would you guys do?

I would keep the 08. I had an 08 that was a fantastic car. But I got the itch for a 14 F Sport which was my mistake. Perhaps had I not bought the F Sport I would still be driving a Lexus. But for me, my 08 was quieter, better ride, and beautiful. The only saving grace was Carvana paid me $500 more than I paid for the car and that was the key to sell the 14.

R Z, I took your advice, as well as my honey saying; “Whataya nuts? You have a stunningly beautiful car that will last you another couple hundred thousand miles…”
The thing about women, they seem to know when you’re about to make a stupid mistake…gotta love em’, right? At least I do…😉

Good for you. Now you can put that car note away every month. Save up and pay cash for your next car!!!

Or not…at my age it’d be nice if this were my last car.

May be wishful thinking.

Ha. Not sure how old you might be, but I'm up there and I certainly will consider another car when the right one arises in about 5 years. Enjoy that 08!!
