Default 2014 LS 460 No AC..

Worked this morning. This afternoon fired car up, it was in the 90s and ****ty out. No AC action even 5 minutes later. just hot air. Toggled AC on and off, ran it on low, recirc, no recirc, etc. One thing I noticed is I don't hear any like clicking or anything when toggling the AC on and off from under the hood usually you hear something when it's kicking on it's like something is not telling the compressor to kick on... would this throw a code that I could read with Carista or something? No CEL thrown. I went under the hood and check the fuses to make sure nothing was loose but I didn't start pulling fuses and doing continuity or anything like that. I even tried putting the defroster on because I know that uses the AC as well nothing just more hot air.. I just sidelined the car for now I'll try it again tomorrow but I expect the same thing is going to happen. At least the AC in my GS350 still works.... 1stworldproblems, lol.....

I will also note that I had zero problems up until this point it was arctic cold in about 2 minutes every time I fired it up....

My guess is you have a refrigerant leak.

Strange how it was perfect, then not 2hrs later.

I put Carista on and the car is throwing B1423... which seems like a generic catch all for AC pressure issues.

I would buy one of these refrigerant cans from Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts, read directions on proper PSI. Fill it up it is low and see what will happen. Make sure you don't overfill it.

If this works, you will need to take it to a shop to find out where the leak is.

you definitely have a leak or over-filled refrigerant. Go to the AC shop then use the machine to find your problem .

On the easiest ways to detect coolant low level is to use an AC sight present almost in every vehicle. If you see bubbles in refrigerant when AC is on, the level is too low.

I have a sight glass on my 76 Monte Carlo but I didn't know we had one on the 460.

The ac sight glass on 2007 460 is near the strut. It can be accessed by removing the front 2 push in clips on the drivers side engine cover. Props to the engineer who made access to these ports up front and on top!

The circular window next to the High pressure cap is the sight glass.
