AWD Vibration after transfer case fluid change
A while ago, I used Mobil 1 to fill the transfer case and it worked for some time. But after around 15k miles, the car developed transfer case shutter around 70-80 mph. I have purchased LL 80 recommended by Lexus to flush the transfer and it resolved the issue for 1 day. On the 2nd day, the vibration came back but it got worse and spread to other speeds especially during first 30 minutes of driving. I read Amsoil and Red Line resolved the issue for multiple people. I got a gallon of Red Line 75W-85 GL-5 and it is in route now. I will do the flush again next weekend. What was your experience with the transfer case flush?

I have seen the instructions but I do not buy that you need to flush it 3 times. A number people on this forum used Amsoil or Red line and both worked great instead of LL 80.

My Lexus dealer was going to use Mobil1 for the transfer case (they wouldn't use LL80). Instead, they used the LL80 I bought for the service. I started noting a very slight vibration in the shifter at all speeds which I never felt before the service. So, overall, my experience with LL80 has been underwhelming. I may have been better off not doing the transfer case service - it is supposed to be a lifetime fluid.
