OEM battery or box stores?
My battery was replaced at end of 2016 with an OEM battery, then replaced again by lexus 17 months later in 2018. Battery is dead again this AM... i was measuring 7v. Jumped the car and ran it for 30 mins, part idle, and part driving. It jumped once before the battery dipped to 8v. Car is dead if i park the car for 4-5 days max... This time i drove the car for about an hour yesterday so it should have started up this morning.
Lexus would pro-rate my battery but i wanted to see if people are using non-oem batteries. I know the car probably has some battery drain issues like some LS' do (not the door jamb switch). This is frustrating and also embarrassing at the same time.

From what I've read on this forum Lexus batteries don't last worth a damn. If it was me I'd save the headache and get a "box store" battery. I keep seeing the Optima RedTop recommended but are they actually good? The ACDelco AGM seems like good value but in hotter climates an AGM battery is questionable.

This car apparently takes two types of battery- Standard Group 24 vs Cold Weather Package Group 27. I wonder if they have different battery plates for them. They should also fit Optima Group 25 per the Optima battery finder. I am in a dessert until i move soon down south. I thought lexus batteries were rebranded interstate but i could be completely wrong. Costco sells the interstate cold weather package battery which i have.

I would just go with a Costco Interstate battery.

Jay Leno still uses them, but then, he can afford to.

My older 2011 LS has no issues when parked for 1-2 weeks. This 2013 model dies in 4-5 days. Costco has a damn good deal but all out of stock and they said it'll take 2-3 weeks for special order but contingent on whether the manager will even order it. I'm opting for Autozone Duralast Gold Group 27 which has about the same specs but it doesnt say AGM or flooded non-AGM.
Costco- Interstate Group 27 is flooded non-AGM 810CCA, 1000CA, Reserved Capacity 140 Mins.
Duralast Gold 27-DLG 810CCA, 930CA, Reserved Capacity 140 mins.
I noticed every time reconnecting my battery and starting the LS for the first time, the engine cranks up and dies. After the second crank, it cranks as normal. Any experiencing this? This was always a consistent occurrence.

You're on your third Lexus battery. Why would you risk a fourth time? Over the past 10 years I've had Lexus battery problems with several Lexus cars I've owned. If you can't get Costco (that's what I use) , I've read on this forum that Walmart batteries are good and have a great warranty. I don't know about Autozone. Search the forum for battery threads. It sounds like you may have an issue with the car itself. No battery will solve that. Have you had an electrical specialty shop try to diagnose your issue? In a car with no issues, batteries usually last 4-6 years.

I'm need to run a draw again test on the vehicle and report back in. Another forum indicated O'Reilly Superstart batteries were pretty good but it only comes with a 2-year warranty.

I have had very good luck in both my LS and my SC 430 as well as my sons SC 430 with the Duracell AGM battery. They are not cheap but do seem to be lasting. I got them at Battery Plus. All 3 are the Platnium model.

I've had the lexus looked at the car 3 times... they keep saying non-issue. Lexus did perform a TSB on the car which supposedly addresses battery drain but i noticed they've turned my clock on after programming while the car is off. Before my car's clock would not run until I turn on the car and the dials will move to the correct time. Now, I noticed now the dials are always running so I'm a little confused. I ended up getting the Duralast Gold Group 27..

Furukawa or Panasonic. Former is better. Everything else is experimenting on your car. Both are OEM for Lexus LS.
