Default Help!!! 2012 ls 460l

Looks good. I like the color combo, ML system and all the toys. A reasonable 100K miles. 22K asking, I think it's 2K too much even with how nice and clean it SEEMS. Carfax is clean but I don't really trust it.

Am i being too "much" ? Should I buy it? What should I ask the dealer? Going tomorrow to make a deal. Or not. I'm in no rush. I don't need a car until Jan of next year.

I should clarify on CArfax.. I don't trust it in general, but it says no accidents, and the car is black, and I can't see any mismatch in the paint, so I don't think it's been hit. What should I ask the dealer tomorrow? Assuming he entertains my 20K offer. Which I think is a good one considering my research.

That is a lot of money for an old car! I would look for a newer one.

get the vin number and go to drivers.lexus.com you'll be able to see a history of maintenance and repairs done to the car by Lexus dealers. Prices for used cars are high currently. If the car is loaded and doesn't need any work, 20k sounds fair from a Lexus dealer.

Thanks guys. I'm kind of somewhere in between those two sentiments. On the one hand, it's a long wheelbase, and it's very well equipped, on the other, I want it for at least 5 years, so I my have to bite the bullet and go for something newer with lower miles.

Those L cars are pretty thin on the ground though. I might just get a beater 90's Lincoln and wait this nonsense out.

You need to plan for expensive repairs and maintenance. The car price is just a beginning. You might have do to all fluids service, brakes, valley plate, spark plugs, valve covers, high pressure fuel pumps, and, possibly, the radiator replacement.

And if you get especially lucky whole round of front control arms and sway bar links. And air suspension, if the car has it.

Yeah as a long time LS430 owner, where the only real expense is the timing belt, it seems Toyota decided to fix that by moving to a timing chain, but I am hearing about all these other issues now, which are prompting me to go newer with less miles.

As I mentioned earlier, with used car prices stupidly high right now, I'm searching for a beater to wait this out.

Just the brake oil in mine was nearly a gallon in DOT 4 bottles! These cars are high class but so are their upkeep costs. Definitely budget parts and service costs in.

IF all the above repairs are recorded on drivers.lexus, then you could move forward with confidence. (no guarantee that they are recorded) Have you looked? Give us the VIN and we'll look.

Default Check ABS!

If it's not too late, when you check the maintenance history, find out if the ABS was replaced. I've gone through 2 of them in my '08. Each time cost around $3K!

Looks like the price has gone up and no word from Mannye.
