Rearrange wheel number in TPMS
I know this is probably futile, but is there perhaps some trick to re teach the tpms the number of each wheel?
The tire listed as 1 is gone and the spare is in use so the system sees tire 2 3 4 5 and panics once a week. I know aside from the obvious 'take out the tpms sensors and reteach the car', is there maybe a less labrous way?

I think, you can re-enter the IDs in the sequence you desire using Techstream. It might require removal of all previously registered TPMS IDs.

Superb, will try it out next chance I get. Thanks Anfanger.

The LS460 TPMS requires 5 reporting sensors. Any less than 5 reporting sensors will cause an alarm. Initially the alarm will occur 20 minutes after less than five reporters. After several alarms, it will go into alarm when the ignition is turned on.

I do not believe, he is looking to eliminate any of the sensors. He wants TPMs IDs to appear in a certain order. It seems to the order is defined by the sequence TPMs IDs are added to the system.

I think jmcraney is correct. Logically, the car shouldn't care if one ID is missing but apparently Lexus engineers are sadists and demand all five IDs be present. I thought that the computer would be okay if ID 1,2,3,4 was present which is why I was hoping reprogramming ID 5 to 1 would make the TPMS shut up about communication lost with ID1
Interestingly I don't get a code after 20 minutes but after about a week. What a nuisance this is.

Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems were mandated, by NHTSA, for all new cars sold in the US beginning with 2008 models. Although there is some variation in implementation by different car manufacturers they all have to warn of non-reporting sensors.

If I were the engineer, I'd log a code not flash the dashboard light about the fifth wheel not being present.
