Would you buy this LS? Carfax inside.
So I知 in the market for a LS460 and I finally found one. My concern is the lack of history on the carfax for as maintenance. The pictures of the the car looks to be in great shape. I知 out of state so I cant check it out in person. Would this limited carfax keep you away?

It can be a good thing if the owner does everything themselves or absolutely the worst car ever. Only way to know is to inspect it

I've seen plenty of Carfax reports that greatly lack service information although it is unusual for an LS. Sign up on the Lexus website and run the VIN through the owners portal. You will then see how the vehicle was optioned as well as its dealer service history.

This is a very reliable model. Many members here have stated minimal repairs/issues over many years of ownership. My 2013 has been trouble free. Regular oil changes matter. Often brakes, tires, battery don't show because smart owners save money by going to independent shops to save big money over dealer high prices. It's got low miles and worth looking at. But there's no substitute for a mechanical inspection before purchase by a mechanic with Toyota/Lexus experience. An OBD2 reader will help.

Not all service providers report to Carfax. In fact, I’ve found Carfax to have sparse, and incomplete service records on every car I’ve considered. I use the Carfax to rather to verify the title branding, ownership transfers, and mileage verification. I would look to the Lexus drivers site for dealership records, then ask to review paper records that the owner has, and finally a pre-purchase inspection to verify condition. I live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and bought my LS in Pittsburgh on a Craigslist ad. Prior to that I bought cars in Fl, TX, MA, IL. They were all bought by me as a “Used” car. Consequently, they weren’t perfect, but by and large, I was always pleased. The thing is pictures can be deceiving, and talk is cheap, so you have to make the deal contingent on your in person inspection, and be prepared to walk away. I once flew to GA. to buy a Mercedes that was in no way the car depicted in the pictures; much was hidden. I hug in my heels, got my deposit back, and flew home to fight another day.
good Luck!

If you are seriously considering buying the car, contact a Lexus dealership local to the seller and ask for a full inspection (with seller's permission). Of course, you will have to pay for it. It will give you some understanding what you are dealing with. Being 2007, it might have a number of issues not visible in pictures.

Totally agree with paying someone to have the car inspected. For me personally, I would pass on a 2007, because of age and possible repairs (find a local service shop). But if that's what you want, continue to do your home work and try to find out all you can about the car. As mentioned, do the Lexus drivers site and look at maintenance. Find out which Lexus dealer serviced the car and contact the service manager. See if they will give you any info on the car. Good luck.
