$11 per quart is ok. Even if using 2 quarts for a full brake fluid change. It is a good insurance against brake actuator failure.

When using techstream and using the "replaced actuator procedure" you bleed each brake line at the caliper more than once. There are a number of different valves techstream opens and closes within the actuator at different steps during the process. It's not as simple as bleeding one caliper at a time. As seen in the video, a number of people have replaced the actuators without using techstream. While their actuators may not throw any codes I suspect they still have air trapped within the system. I've often wondered if air trapped in the lines creates micro bubbles which wear the actuator seals out faster. The time it takes to do it correctly leads me to believe some shops likely don't do the full bleed process either.

So my car is fixed after almost a month.

Lexus quoted me for the wrong part (44050-50170) and tried to charge me an extra $1k for the part that I suspected was correct which is: 44050-50170. So multiple dealers and even corporate gave me an outdated the number. The original actuator that came with my vehicle was 44510-50070 which typically found in the 2007-2012 models.

Default Brake Actuator Special Warranty Coverage

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this in the thread but the brake actuator for my 2014 Lexus ls460l was covered by warranty and completely replaced by the Lexus dealer. It's not a recall but there is a bulletin that states it will be covered till march of 2024. So anyone having issue should take advantage of this situation. Note, I had to tell my dealer about the bulletin or they were gonna charge me 4k. Slightly off subject, they did talk me into a new set of Michelan for $1200 so they did make something off of me. The fact that the left rear wheel start wobbling 3 miles down the road due to finger tight lug nuts is a whole other story. Let me know if anybody needs me to look up that bulletin. NHSTA.GOV should be in every car owners bookmarks!!!

Toyota issued a warranty enhancement for a one time replacement or reimbursement last year (in 2023). I was able to get reimbursed. They are clearly at fault by not being able to redesign a truly reliable part (considering how much it costs and how critical it is) and refusing to admit it. They were formerly sued for 2007-2012 car's actuators and agreed to settle with the warranty enhancement. I've filed several complaints with the NHSTA and encouraged others to do the same.

Default @3GSShoe. (Sorry. Can't find 'REPLY' button for posts!)

Did not know that the bulletin was issued this recently. It is crazy that it had not been done sooner. Unfortunately there are a lot of manufacturers not announcing vehicle issues and defective parts to their consumers for sure. I found a brake booster issue with my son's 2017 Z71 that was also covered. The bulletin literally stated that GM had no intention of informing their customers of the issue. And that only if the issue arose and all else failed (BCM reflash) would they replace the part under warranty. Look, I understand companies need to profit and recalls are extremely costly but my suggestion is increase the rigor in which you test the capabilities of your products so that your sure to provide the publuc with a decent product. Especially one that is so costly. That's the manufacturers' burden. I know it is not all but, I'll praise the NHTSA.gov again for the resources they have been able to provide the public.

It's the CSP 23LE04. It's probably not online. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...am-23leo4.html

I have a 2012 LS460 and I am having brake actuator issue. Lexus is refusing to fix it for me under warranty. Can you please kindly look up that bulletin you mention for me so I can take it to the dealership. Appreciate you help.
