Default Wireless receiver: Smart door control module location

Where is the wireless smart door control receiver located exactly? I have a 2007 LS460 base.

Techinfo shows I have to remove the whole trunk and part of the rear cooler just to get to this part. I want to see if there is an easier way to get access to this part

Have not replaced this myself. but I don't think there's any around not having to remove any covers. From the 2007 repair manual:

Thanks. Where can I purchase a physical repair manual book like yours?

You're welcome! I got mine from a mechanic just before he retired and sold his business. Here's a somewhat recent thread on these and some other alternatives to the factory manuals, and it looks like the Walmart links are still good.... https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...manuals-3.html

Does the manual explain what this smart door control receiver component does? What's its function? Thanks

I got an electronic version and it tells you how to replace parts but not what parts do. If I am not mistaken, there is a diagnostics section as well where it points you to certain parts based on observed malfunctions.
