Default 2010 LS460 Awd 120k miles .. is it worth it?

hi all,
I'm looking at a 2010 LS460 AWD with 120k miles. The dealer (not private sale) has a really good deal for $12,999..
It has a clean history..
I know i didn't list all the information but do you guys think it's a decent deal?
Thanks.

I am fairly new to this forum, yet I have found it to be quite helpful. So here’s a piece of friendly advice: To receive to maximum assistance you might want to provide more detailed information. Who is the source of the “clean history?” Have you gotten the car inspected? Have you test driven the car? If yes, what did you hear, feel and smell? What is the seller’s reputation; are they a dealership or a stealership?
Many of us who take our cars seriously would like to help you; we require details…help us help you. Good luck.

Price is not bad at all considering but more information needed as it was stated above. Check the history and look for replaced suspension parts, brake actuator, control arms, water pump, radiator, and interior dash pieces. See if high pressure fuel pumps and valve cover maintenance were performed already. If not and you are comfortable repairing cars like Lexus, you could use existing issues to negotiate the price down.

Yeah.. i schedule an appointment for test drive and see if the dealer let me have the car for 8h.
I bring it to the garage for pre-purchase inspection to check out the control arm, brake actuator and items you guys listed.
How is the MPG? I did a search in here and some member has good MPG on highway but just about 15mpg in city..
Thanks guys.

At that mileage I would also carefully look at the interior, it will tell you if the previous owners (s) took care of the car....

Thanks for the reply all.
This is the list i'm focusing on:
  • Wind noise.
  • Control arm
  • Brake actuator
  • Melting Interior
  • Water pump
  • Valve cover maintenance
  • Hesitation when driving
is there anything else i should check for?
Thanks.

Check panels for previous accidents: paint over spray, paint on tires or/and wheel wells, non-OEM epoxy, signs of repair, filler dust, color variations etc. Often, body damage is not reported.

Remove the oil cap and check condition of the oil, check the oil level, color of brake fluid (should be greenish to particulates), check condition and level of the coolant . I have seen a number of Lexus cars with low oil level and an empty coolant overflow tank. If possible examine the air filters. It is a long list but to your benefit.

i only know recently I saw a lot of AWD transmissions available and they seem to be less costly than the RWD.

Would be nice if OP would follow up with his posting so others can gain some knowledge.
