Default 2013-2017 LS brake light delayed? Wont come on unless depressed further than normal

I noticed some members had mentioned before. The brake light doesnt come on unless you press the depress the brake pedal down a good amount. In most instances at a stop light, i can fully stop my car without my brake light turning on. This feels like a major hazard for being rear ended. This is another NHTSA issue.

whoa. That sounds like a big problem. I’ve never heard of the issue for the 4LS

Sorry you're having this serious issue. I too haven't seen this on the forum. What steps did you take to repair this so far?

Looks like the brake switch needs to be adjusted or replaced.

Why do you feel this is a federal safety issue vs a repair?

Thanks Jim I knew I've seen this before! I'll report after an adjustment.
