Default Rear Window Shade Goes Up Half Way

The shade that covers the rear window has started to stop going up when it reaches the half way point. It retracts fine.

Any other have experience in correcting this?

Much thanks!

Thanks for the link Anfanger! I'm guessing mine is that exact same problem.

i showed my wife how much effort would be required to repair her rear shade. She said "Forget it!"

I'm off the hook on this one. LOL

You can go into Techstream and turn it off once it is up. It will not go down every time you shift in to reverse. It will only go down if you push the button. That is what I did for my 2010 LS 460L. I thought it was only a matter of time before it would go south.

Carista app will allow you to do it as well, for little money. Unless you already have techstream. Dealer can do it too, $.

That is actually what I used after I bought the Carista app when it was in bata testing way back when. I also turned off the driving lights.

I've owned several Lexus vehicles and have found Carista to be very handy. I remember that I paid once and then had to pay again a couple years later for the updated app. Maybe I was in Beta as well.
