Get an used virgin key fob and key blade off Ebay and add it to your car. Then cut the blade that came with the fob. When I did it, I paid around $90 for the key fob. I got Techstream, and I used it to add the key. Still need to cut the blade.

Welcome to the forum. Techstream is the dealer program needed to program the electronics, it is available to consumers and requires a pc, specific cable and a subscription to activate the program. Cheaper than having a dealer do it. Maybe some specialty Lexus/Toyota repair shops can do it for less money. Not a typical locksmith though.

My St. Louis dealer quoted several hundred bucks (~400) for a replacement programmed key fob and laser-cut (?) mechanical key. I contacted a local auto locksmith. He quoted $240 for exactly the same type of key fob and key. For a slightly smaller Lexus key fob with all the same functions and mechanical key, he quoted $160, which I accepted. I have seen these on Amazon and they are genuine (you can verify the serial/model #s on the key fob). The key fob programmed fine and works well. The mechanical key was not laser-cut, but it works fine. So, my advice is to contact a local auto locksmith and save some money. If you already have access to Techstream etc., that is also a viable option as suggested by others above.

I had to search for my post, but I bought the metal key part precut for my car from "1010keys" on ebay for $12. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...d-program.html
I'm curious to see what the programming with that tool looks like.

Hello all! So I received the Dorman 99389 keyfob and programmer from Amazon, and have to say the programming/set up was so simple....took less than a minute. Well worth the $100!
I will say, from both experience and from reading an Amazon review, be sure to purchase a new CR1632 battery as well as the one it came with was dead.

The instruction sheet on website states new and programmed remote 2007-2009 LS460. Reading reviews, some people had issues plus one must pay to have key cut. (Approx $100 more according to reviewer.) Still a deal if all goes well.
