ABS Break Bleed 2016 Lexus LS460
I am looking for a scan tool to proceed with an ABS Break Bleed and Actuator renew. Lost all break fluid from right front and left calipers and the brake reservoir. I have tried several scan tools without success.
Has anyone tried successfully using the TOYOTA LEXUS SCION Diagnostic Scanner Tool ABS RESET Code Reader VIDENT iLink400?
The LEXUS
Toyota Tis-Techstream for a DIY person is to expensive. A Toyota Dealer wants $580 just for the Break bleed. LEXUS dealer is too far away.

Go to rutracker and get yourself a copy of techstream, get a $40 mongoose clone off amazon and you're good to go. I recommend autokent's driver as nothing else worked for me. Heck you could even try the bundled version of techsteam that comes with the cable. I found it would crash constantly though.

There are no '40$ mongoose clones', stop dreaming. It's Xhorse MVCI clone at best. Oh and supporting ruskies? Now? Pass.

I got a copy of Techstream off Ebay for $25 and $20 OBD2 adapter (Xhorse based one; it worked for year for me). In my experience, Windows XP and Windoes 7 work the best. I heard some people using later Windows version but it never worked for me.

It allowed me to bleed the brakes without issues. However, I have upgraded the OBD adapter with one from DrewTechnologies, I paid for it $300. Now, I can flush transmission firmware and run active test for basically any unit. I possibly overpaid but it is worth to me.

I paid $200 for the first brake flush done by a local dealer. I do it myself these days.

$300 to gain flashability is a very good price if you ask me. I've seen more proper Toyota VIMs go for $1,000+

IF your pc is 32 bit, many cables will work, it it's 64 bit, then you need the cable with updated driver. as stated above, older versions of windows work best but it's possible newer versions work well with updated cable driver. Is your PC 32 bit, what version of windows?

??? I have Mongoose Pro BT and it was less than $600 from Drew directly. Mongoose Pro is the officially supported VIM for Lexus/Toyota/Scion on TIS. There are no others officially supported for the North American market.

You won't be able to access updates from Lexus/Toyota/Scion without a professional subscription (I have one). I am not brave enough to assume someone passing out updates unofficially is not sending me malware.

Thanks Guys, I sent the following email after seeing your recommendations, Thanks greatly.
-------
sales@drewtech.com
2016 LEXUS LS460, American.

Club Lexus forum recommended the MongoosePro Toyota 2 for completing my ABS Break Bleed, and repairing the error codes for the following:
  1. low pressure Accumulator (code 1256),
  2. Master Reservoir Level (code 1202),
  3. Malfunction of Hydraulic System Right Front (code 1341),
  4. Malfunction of Hydraulic System Left Front (code 1342).
I lost all brake fluid in front brake calipers after replacing brake shoes. I have bleed all four calipers twice the old fashion way.

Is there an additional license fee or a need to purchase anything other than your adapter to correct the above. I have a laptop for use. 64 bit

Thank you.

The adapter comes with a generic OBDII toolset. I've never used it because I have a Techstream pro subscription, but I believe you'll be able to reset your DTCs with it. Let us know what Drew says. I can check the JIS toolbox also if that might help.

I should have checked with you prior to ordering and trying so many scanners. I am sending the last one back now, the XTOOL Anyscan A30M.

I will let you know the results of my email.

Thanks for your help.

Can you drive the car at all with those codes? Are you anywhere near Johns Creek?

I have driven the auto on sparsely used roads to test the brakes. They are engaging without spongy brakes. However when I slam on brakes it seems that the right rear tire skids.

Atlanta is about 65 to 70 miles from Athens.

Thanks for your help.
