Default Rear Heated Seats only in AWD, Ultra Luxury or Exec PKG?

Hey Family!

I am currently an owner of a 2001 LS430 and fell in love with the big body Lexus'. I love driving in comfort and providing comfort to my passengers. As much as I love the stately charm of the LS430's, I do plan to upgrade to the 2013+ LS460 in the near future for a more modern interior (and usable cup holders), better tech and more HP.

Heated seats are non-negotiable for me but one thing I am realizing through research is that the 4th gen LS460 does NOT have rear heated seats UNLESS it is an AWD w/ Comfort Package, Ultra Luxury or Executive Package. Am I correct in this? Can anyone confirm? I think it's a damn shame considering my base LS has rear heated seats...Finding a UL seems quite difficult!

I attached the LS 460 brochures for 2013 thru 2017, so you can check the options and see which ones come with heated rear seats.

This is correct. My AWD LS460 had heated rear seats, but my RWD LS460L did not despite being much better optioned.

I don't sit in the back so I didnt care.

My base model has heated rears.....the only options my car has are the front climate seats that include the rear seats and shade and the soft close door system.

If you want heated/cooled rears you need to get the higher end package, I don't have people in the back normally and for most of them the rear heat is already a "wow" factor enough lol!

The packages changed as the years went on. In a 13-17 you will hardly find heated rear seats in a RWD car

I have an 07 460 with Comfort package. My rear seats have memory, recline, and they are heated and cooled.

that's awesome! is yours AWD or RWD? If it's RWD, my guess is that they eventually changed the package for RWD cars in later model years.

i wish I could’ve found an L. But, I’m happy with what I got. I’ve had it for almost a year. Got it at 58k. Have 69k on it now. The dealer o bought it from replaced the control arms and brakes all the way around because it wouldn’t pass MD inspection without it.

My 4 year, 100k mile warranty replaced my ML amp at the Lexus dealership as soon as I got it tagged as well. The dealer ran an thorough inspection and found it to be in premium operating condition.

Both my 2013 LS460 SWB U/L and 2016 Ls460L U/L had the heated rear seats. The ultra luxury package was a requirement for me.

My Audi A8L has heated and cooled rear seats with massage. And even my 2022 Mazda CX-5 has heated rear seats.

Lexus dropped the ball by not making more cars with the ultra luxury package. Honestly, it should be standard on all of them.

Good to see you! Haven't seen you in a while!

Did you trade your LS in for an A8L?
