Default Transmission differences between 2008 and 2009+

Hey Guys,
Im still hunting down the issues with my transmission and am starting to look at a replacement unit vs having it rebuilt.
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a 2008 and 2009+ model years.
The price for an 08 transmission is much higher and the fitment guides say they are not interchangeable?
They are both AA80E transmissions but are they somehow different?
All info is greatly appreciated,
Catto

parts.lexus.com says that 2007-20 RWD share transmission, however, there are, at least, 3 different part numbers. I suspect, you might have to get a specific transmission ECU depending on transmission part number.
