You sure there is a squib in the headrests? I can't find it in the parts diagram.

i thought replacing this part would be the issue but i havent pulled the trigger to buy it, before i made sure because it does contain the airbag that makes the headrest deployed

If you can buy that part on it's own you should be fine, please be careful when installing it. How much does that one cost?

I'd rethink buying this type of cheap part on E Bay. It's probably Chinese made and therefore dubious specs and quality control. I wouldn't want this to fire off accidentally or even worse, not work when needed. Especially when against your head. Look at the injuries people experienced from the steering wheel airbag debacle a few years ago. Those were OEM bags. Try one of the recommended sellers mentioned on the forum for a Lexus part.

He would have to address that and be very careful with the seat leather etc doing this. I would just replace the seat with a same color/year one or send it to a upholstery shop if I screw up the process. I don't like messing with interiors if I can avoid it....

I assume when he said he reset it he replaced the ECU already

Sorry to hear. Hope there is no injury.

I read in MY16 LS manual that in the event when headrest is depolyed take it to the dealer. There wasn't any further instructions on how to reset.
