Default Can I use a 235-55R18 tire on the LS460?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has been able to install a slightly taller sidewall like a 55 series tire instead of the stock 50 series on 18’s without rubbing the fender wall?

Because the next time I need to buy new tires I want to try to get a larger tire to help cushion the ride from potholes/cracks/broken uneven pavement even more. My city hasn’t fixed up or repaved much of where I live in over 3 years 🤬😡and the streets have become so bad to drive on now that it has become very uncomfortable and even dangerous at times. I feel like my LS is getting hammered every time I take it out on the road. 😖😣 Times like this I wish I lived in Texas, Arizona or Nevada where they have the smoothest flattest roads and highways that it’s like driving on perfection. No bumps, lumps, and not too many potholes. Your suspension, brakes and tires could last forever in those states because they maintain there infrastructure so well.

Thanks!

They'll be half an inch bigger than the 45r19 on mine but I've never had any rubbing.

That size tire will be .9" taller. If you go to 225/55 (if that size is available) it will only be .4" taller.

Here's a handy website for comparing tire sizes - https://tiresize.com/calculator/

While not the same sizes as in the linked thread, the overall diameter increase should not be significant enough to cause any rubbing. Check out this thread and have some patience to read the fine details. Pics show the wheel/fender gap reduction. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...-on-ls460.html

Great, thank you all. I thought the height would be a lot higher but it looks like it’s not. I wish I could even install a 60 series, but that definitely wouldn’t work.

I feel you on the potholes. These dense euro city roads are awful and the move from 18s to 19s has come at a great cost to comfort. 50 tire thickness would look silly though.
