If recirculate door doesn’t work, what’s it affect?
Hey guys – just realized that my recirculate door does not stay up or move when changed. I’m getting the classic symptom where it keeps the air from coming right on when the car is turned on for about a minute.
until I can get it in for service, what does that actually hurt? Except having to wait for the air to come on. It is still as cool as normal and does not seem to show any functional issues.
I can literally lift the door up and it just falls right back down. Nothing is catching or anything.
also – when I press the recirculate button, nothing engages or makes any kind of difference in any of the modes. It’s like the button hasn’t even been pushed. It stays the same.

OK to wait. Your car will still get cool. The door is there to switch from cabin air and outside air. Subtle differences only. It's possible someone broke the mechanism when changing cabin filter. There's a proper procedure to follow. Lexus service will be expensive, Toyota, less so. Try to find an indy shop that specializes in Toyo/Lexus cars.
