Unhappy 2011 Skid Control Module

I have my 2011 LS 460 at the dealer diagnosed as needing a skid control module part number 89540-50510. This part number shows as being discontinued with no superseded part number. Some of the Lexus parts sites show the 89540-50511 part number for 2011-2012 LS 460s. Does anyone know if that is a valid replacement part number for a 2011? I have already had the ABS module, brake accumulator and front control arms replaced. I thought I was on the home stretch for beating the amber ABS light, amber brake system, light and amber skid control light turning on intermittently, until the part could not be sourced.

If it was discontinued and not superseeded, you have very limited options - old stock or used parts. There is one on Ebay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/14426517770...item2196dfea65

Thanks, when I enter 2011 LS460 for the compatibility check on the eBay posting, it says it is not compatible. It is so frustrating that the part is not available new for a 11 year old Lexus.

Using parts.lexus.com, I found that the part you are looking for is 89540-50511 - https://parts.lexus.com/p/Lexus_2011...954050511.html

Used on Ebay - https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...50511&_sacat=0

Thanks for checking. I gave the 89540-50511 part number to the Lexus dealer last week to see if it is a valid replacement part number for the 2011.

It looks like the89540-50510 skid control module on Ebay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/14426517770...item2196dfea65
actually has 89540-50210 on the listing photo. I was told by the dealer that the 89540-50511 part number for the 2012 LS460 will not work. My car has been at the dealer now for 2 weeks.

Those part numbers might not be what you think. There is sometimes a difference between part numbers on sticker and Lexus catalog part numbers. A very good example of it, I believe, is the ABS pump.

Do you have AWD or RWD?

It is a RWD. The2011 AWD skid control module 89540-50551 is readily available. I have asked the dealer to see if any of the available modules will work with the 2011. I asked for them to check with higher level tech support or engineering. They said they can't just try a module not specifically called out for the 2011 LS because an electrical part can't be returned once it is installed, if it doesn't work. This is actually the 3rd week at the dealer.

Just get one off Ebay used and test it if the budget allows. The Lexus catalog says, it fits your car. Have you tried using it with your VIN?

Ebay has a guarantee that used items (car parts) will work as advertised by seller. Money back even if seller doesn't. Just file a complaint case.

If it was just up to me, I would try that. As I mentioned before, the car is at the Lexus dealership being repaired, under warranty.

I have tried entering my vin in a Lexus dealer parts catalog, called several Lexus dealer parts departments. The only part number for the 2011 showing up is 89540-50510.

There are seems to be, at least, 3 different blocks used between 2009-2012. Judging by the date overlap, I believe, 89540-50511 is what you are looking for. I am curious about how the dealer is going to solve the issue.

Yea, tight case. Actually there's no overlap, just annoying halfway-here/there months... And yes, I guess you do need -50510. -50511 might not work. I'm guessing at least one of dealer used microcat (instead of epc) to verify factory part installed.

I had to take the loaner back today and they gave me my car back. The dealer said there was nothing they could do since the part could not be sourced. At the last minute I found one on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/28495773281...732819&vxp=mtr with the correct part number -50510 showing in the pictures. I bought it and called both the dealer and warranty company that I found one. The warranty company said they cannot cover the repair with a part bought on eBay. They also said to take the car to another authorized repair facility that can source the part. I am not sure where to go if the dealer can't find a new or refurbished part.
