Give this a try, https://proadditives.com/product/sto...gasoline-pack/

The oil flush concentrate cured my excessive 1qt of oil over 1000 miles. Another reason why i run Cata Clean every 15000 miles is to mostly clean the oxygen sensors from the oil blow by. I personally believe this is why our cars hesitate because their not reading the exhaust air/fuel correctly due to oil blow by. Ive stated before i get low speed pre ignition when i run too much 90 octane non ethanol fuel. My LS use to hesitate but now ive got everything worked out and runs flawlessly.
I agree i would not run 5-40, I am one of the guys everybody frowns upon because I exclusively run amsoil 5-30. I'm coming up on the oil change and thinking about doing Pennzoil 5-30. Mostly because it's easier to obtain, and better than ordering amsoil and having it being delivered.

P.S when you use Pro Additives FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. This stuff is STRONG!

That's fine lol, the ISF is speced for 30 weight with an oil cooler and we have the same clearances.

You can also try to manually decarbon the rings by pulling all plugs and letting them soak overnight, turn the engine over 180* and soak again. It will smoke like hell but this normally works for customer cars if they aren't too far gone.

Thank you all for your advice,
I’m not a DIY type of guy and have to take it to the mechanic. I’ll drop the Lexus dealer repair shop, as they don’t care to handle old cars.

will try to clean the pistons and take the carbons out and try to maintain the oil with probably Mobil one of Toyota synthetic oil.

thanks again, if it lasts for another 100,000 miles or at least 70,000 I’ll be happy for sure

Toyota dealer is an option. It can be tough to find an indy shop that knows Lexus and is fairly priced.

Can’t you submit a claim now if a mechanic gives you a quote for a ring job, or engine replacement?

Maybe with a second opinion that the oil consumption is too high, you can start a letter campaign.

At 189,000 miles, any extended maintenance policy will claim excessive oil consumption is due to wear and tear unless it's a component that fails for a different reason. The dealer who told you this has likely dealt with many of these companies and knows what won't be covered. Read the contract yourself.
