2012 LS 460 AWD transmission
Looking to buy a 2012 LS 460 AWD.
The vehicle is ~115k and first 90k was maintained well at a Lexus dealership. Since then two other owners over 3 years (during covid) and so so maintenance.
On the CarFax I noticed the Lexus dealership states “performed 15k, 30k, 45k, 60k, etc.” maintenance but in the notes all it says is “checked transmission fluid” vs. changed or flushed transmission fluid.
I’ve heard various things about LS460’s transmission fluid like you can’t even check it because that exposes it to air and messes it up to, “it’s lifetime” but then you get into how is “lifetime” defined, etc.
Question is this — if the vehicle has been maintained well for the first 90k miles at a Lexus dealership, should this transmission likely be able to make it to 200k miles issue free? (I’ve heard 300k on an LS is an obtainable goal!). Obviously, this assumes it wasn’t used as a drag-strip racer 🤣

There is a fill port for mission fluid that would allow for a small sample to be inspected. Sounds like the 105,000 inspection was missed and you now have 115.000. In my mind this is close to ideal and should not affect the life of the car. Just pick up where maintenance left off. Some folks like to do a couple of drain and fills on transmission at about 100k miles.
