How to remove the GOVERNOR

Sard made a limit cutter called CUVU. I think HKS made one called Speed Jumper. They costed a few hundred dollars years ago.
Not sure if they are still in production.
I've only ever seen them for sale used on croooober japan.

The HKS model for the LS is HKS VAC (Velocity Advanced Computer) Type S T-802. Both the VAC and the Sard CUVU LS460-02 were discontinued some time ago but you can still find used ones for sale on Crooooober, Yahoo Japan, etc. The VAC appear to be selling for around $600-$800 when they do. This is of course quite a lot of money just for VMAX. Probably more cost effective to find a tuner who can KTAG or the like your ECU.

I should probably be asking TunedbyLoi these questions - Is that their screen name here?

Hi, do you know what parameters are updated with their tunes? Is it a handheld device likt the SCT XCAL4 or a piggyback chip? What to expect from a tune and if there are any BPU that I should do before opting for a tune?

Definitely do some airflow mods, like intake filters and exhaust. You can't go wrong with some lightweight wheels and sticky tires.

And all of the solutions for the Denso NEC ECUs require connecting to the board via JTAG which means soldering a 20pin connector onto the ECU as well! Definitely not something I would suggest anyone do for the first time over a weekend.

Loi has already tuned a LS460, and to my knowledge there was no soldering required.

You're right and I can't remember right now exactly how that works but I think there are tools that can be used via OBD2 if you already have the factory tune files and don't need to read them. I'm not 100% on that though, there could be tuners that can do everything via the DLC3 now and I am just behind the curve.
